Cliff Lee Receives Pre-At-Bat Twizzler from a Young Fan

Jun 8, 2013, 10:30 AM EDT

After coming into last night’s ballgame 5-0 in his last six starts, Cliff Lee failed to hold a four-run lead when he allowed four runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out nine in 122 pitches. Jeremy Horst gave up the winning run in the ninth, and the Phillies lost, 5-4.

Lee, who was up to .316 in late May, even went 0-for-3 at the plate.

But it wasn’t all bad news for Cliff on Friday:

Blame the Twizzler?

I’m confused as to why Horst is allowed to continue pitching on the squad? It’s almost as if we are one horst-cut away from being a contender….

Back from the grave, and first post on the new comment section, respectively,

HOWEVER, keeping horst makes more sense than not amnestying Hartnell (DONT CRIPPLE OUR FRANCHISE HOMER!!!!!)

I worried about Lee throwing so many pitches, I’d feel better if he was limited to 100-105; why stress his arm at this point in the season? Another loss wouldn’t. Kill them but losing Lee to an injury would.
Also Cadbury/Shwepps just offered Lee $500,000 to have another on his next outing or $1,000,000 if he sticks it in his nose.
