Prospective NBA head coach Andre Iguodala endorses Jason Kidd’s soda spill

Hats off to Jason Kidd, who to date has seemed over-matched as a first-year head coach with an ancient roster, a questionable bench and very possibly the worst active general manager in the NBA. Hey, Billy King.

But you’ve got to give the guy credit for ingenuity.

With his Brooklyn Nets trailing the Lakers Wednesday night and out of timeouts, watch J-Kidd mouth “hit me” in the direction of rookie Tyshawn Taylor (.gif via Deadspin):

Jason Kidd Earned The Nets An Extra Time Out By Dropping His Soda

The spill and ensuing cleanup gave Kidd enough time to draw up a three-point look for Paul Pierce that would have tied the game with two seconds left, but Pierce missed and the Nets fell to 4-11. How giddy is Danny Ainge right now?

Andre Iguodala is just impressed:

If Kidd had integrity and respect for the game, he wouldn’t have done that . Breaking the rule is one thing, lie and try to cover up is another.
