Remember Phillies fans, no matter how hard things get there are still the Marlins

Oct 1, 2013, 8:22 PM EDT

You may have missed it over the weekend because who cares about baseball at this point of the season when the Phillies aren’t playing, but the Miami Marlins managed to throw something of a wacky and wild no hitter to close out the season.

Pretty cool moment in a likely forgettable season for the Marlins.

So what did the Marlins do after the fact? They decided to sell unused tickets to the game as memorabilia to any fan wanting in on the action.

You may remember when they did this for Roy Halladay’s perfect game down there a couple of years ago.

But there are two awesome twists to this latest scheme from the Marlins. As reported by the folks over at Deadspin, not only do the tickets come as crappy PDF files that you have to actually print on your home printer, they also came with the wrong date. Amazing.

Thanks for existing, Marlins.

Yeah, October 3rd hasn’t happened yet.

when you insinuate that we don’t care about baseball outside of its relation to philadelphia, you make us sound like yankees fans.

The first sentence was probably tongue in cheek, but “who cares at this point”? It’s the playoffs, baseball fans care. Especially with the mix of teams involved. Probably the most interesting playoffs (without the Phillies) in years.

I can sort of see buying a real ticket (like we all used to have) but those crap PDF tickets you print off are worth nothing. Unless you use StubHub than it’s worth $4….

Didn’t they do this for Doc’s perfecto?

You know what, I’m gonna read the whole article next time. You’re welcome for the page views and comments…

Let’s keep laughing at the Marlins, you know because they have as many World Series titles in 21 years of existence as the Phillies have in 113 seasons since the inception of the World Series. That being said their fan base is pathetic and nearly non existent.

Just fyi, this year will be the 109th WS. 1903-2013 would be 111, less 1904 and 1994, which didn’t have one.

(not that it changes your point at all)
