Watch Uncle Junior Sing the National Anthem at Phillies vs. Giants Game

Jul 31, 2013, 9:45 AM EDT

Actor Dominic Chianese, better known to you as Uncle Junior on The Sopranos, sang the national anthem prior to last night’s Phillies game against the Giants in South Philadelphia. It was Italian Heritage Night down at Citizens Bank Park and this is where I’d typically make some obscure Sopranos joke but I’m ashamed to say I’m one of the very few Italian Americans to have never seen the hit HBO show from start to finish — we didn’t have HBO in college, WHADAYOUWANTFROMME?

Sorry Dad. I never wanted to disappoint you.

You can catch more of Uncle Joon’s chat with Gregg Murphy here.

Also, to all of you executives of professional baseball teams not named the Phillies: did you see Michael Young hit a HOME RUN last night? You totally want him in your lineup. There’s still time!

Check out the pipes on Uncle Joon! Gotta love the little bit of anger he threw in at “Our flag was still there.”

Loved the version Dom did and it sounded great. Only thing is at the end of the video you see a Phillies employee saluting the flag while standing next to a cop who is rightfully saluting. Your only supposed to salute while in uniform i.e. Armed Forces or Police and Firefighters not a Phillies employee uniform. The right hand goes over the heart when not in uniform.

Oh my God! Arrest the guy! No better yet let’s tar and feather the douche, no wait, better still put him on a pick up squad with Delmon, Paps, Martinez, Blanton, and Rubes.

I thought any kind of service person or vet had the right to salute. I know at my great-grandfather’s funeral a few weeks ago, all my relatives who are vets saluted the color-guard.
