DYK? Darren Howard Leading Birds in Sacks, Birds Leading NFL

Share

Considered a bust of an acquisition for most of his time in Philly, Darren Howard has finally started making some noise this season. He leads the team in sacks, one area in which the Birds are actually doing fairly well this season. The Birds are tied for the NFL lead, with 36. (Sorry to use the word "tied")

More on the sack situation from Eagles.com:

The Eagles defense racked up eight sacks on the day
from six different players ... DE Darren Howard had 2.0 sacks in the
game and has 5.5 in the last five games. He leads the team with 8 this
season ... DE Trent Cole also had 2.0 sacks on the day, marking his
10th-career multi-sack game. Cole now has 31.5 sacks for his career,
tying him with Mike Mamula for 12th place in team history ... CBs
Joselio Hanson and Sheldon Brown each registered their first sacks of
the season, becoming the 13th and 14th different Eagles to do so in
2008 ... DT Brodrick Bunkley and DE Chris Clemons each picked up their
second sacks of the season.
