Evan Turner ‘Just Took Over' in Sixers OT Win Over Celtics

It was less than a week ago after an ugly, ugly loss to the Timberwolves when Doug Collins said he didn't really know what kind of team he had, that this team hasn't gone through anything together. Well they showed him something on Friday night when they found a way to outlast the Boston Celtics and pull out a wild overtime victory with a clutch jumper by Evan Turner in the final seconds.

Things looked bleak for the Sixers when Jrue Holiday fouled out in overtime. From John Finger's game recap:

“I told Evan when Jrue fouled out that one of us has to take over
and facilitate the game,” Thad Young explained. “From then on, Evan just took
over.”

Evan most certainly showed something on Friday night when he finished with a game-high 26 points. Even when his shots weren't falling up to that crucial point in OT when Jrue went down, Evan didn't let that stop him from putting the club on his shoulders.

Turner didn't stop with the huge bucket in the final seconds of OT, the swagger carried into his post game as well.

“I feel like every shot I take should go in,” Turner said. “I
started out hot and I probably should have had 50 tonight, but I kept at
it and got that last shot.”

Loved what Coach Collins had to say following the win:
