Sixers Go Shooting Down the Walls of Heartache in Golden State

Hey, we beat the Grizzlies in Memphis on Wednesday! None of our good
players played well and a couple of their good players played really
well, but sports are weird and things happen and every Dorell Wright
must have his day and we won the game somehow. Coming not all that long
after a big win against Atlanta (with a forgivable loss to the Nets in
between), this could resemble something like "forward momentum" for a
team that dropped five winnable games in a row fairly recently. We'll take it.

The
Sixers get to keep those feelings of goodness alive in Oakland tonight,
where they play a late game against the surging Warriors. The talent
level on the Warriors is far from overwhelming, but they've combined
good outside shooting (nearly a combined six threes a game from starting
backcourt Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson) with solid post play (David
Lee averaging about 20 and 11 on 54% shooting) and above-average team
defense (holding their opponents to under 100 points a game, something
once-unthinkable for the offense-first Warriors) to scrape their way to
an impressive 19-10 record, winning nine of their last twelve.

To
beat the Warriors, the Sixers will need to get a little more out of
their own starting backcourt, as Evan Turner and Jrue Holiday combined
for a miserable 14 points (13 of them Jrue's) to go with 11 (!!)
turnovers in the win against Memphis, in a combination of box score and
final score you are not likely to see happen again anytime soon. For
what it's worth, the Sixers handled the Warriors pretty easily in their
two meetups last year, winning both games by a combined 50 points, but
it probably ain't worth much, considering how different the personnel
are on both teams this time around, and considering that neither Evan or
Jrue played a large part in either Sixer victory last year.
