WATN: Sixers Former 2nd Rounder Sam Clancy

Henry Abbott over at TrueHoop talks with former Sixers 2nd round draft pick Sam Clancy who is currently playing ball in Spain.  Most of us probably don't remember too much about Sam Clancy.  I remember him most for his role in knocking my Troy Bell-led Boston College squad out of the 2001 NCAA tournament.  It sounds like he has a pretty sweet gig over in Spain.  Abbott writes:

I placed a call to Menorca, a Mediterranean island off Barcelona, to
catch up with former USC star, injured Sixer, and Blazer training camp
fodder Sam Clancy, Jr. He's playing for Club Menorca (sometimes you can see some wicked highlights of him on the team's website)
in the top Spanish league. He's making better money than he would if he
were playing in the NBA, especially when you consider the team takes
care of his taxes, car, apartment, cell phone, plane tickets for
friends and family to visit, and some other living expenses before they
even start counting his salary.

True Hoop has a couple of .mp3's of the conversation he had with Clancy.  There is some interesting stuff on the type of payday some of the players in the NBA can get -- actual physical checks with six zeros on them, etc.
