You May Want to Get to the August 8th Marlins Game a Bit Early

Jul 31, 2009, 11:55 AM EDT

…and come hungry.

Join the fun along Citizens Bank Way on Saturday, August 8, when former
Phillies centerfielder Garry Maddox hosts his eighth annual Barbecue
Challenge. Admission to the Garry Maddox Barbecue Challenge is free.
Visitors can enjoy family-friendly entertainment while sampling food
from participating vendors along our Restaurant Row. Food tickets will
be available for purchase in the contest location on August 8 and can
be redeemed at participating stands while supplies last. All proceeds
benefit the Youth Golf & Academics Program (YGAP), an academic
enrichment program founded by Garry Maddox to support children in
grades K-8 who reside in troubled city neighborhoods.

Here's the official website and as The Illadelph points out, Stephen Starr will be bringing chefs from four of his restaurants.
